Training: Occupational First Aid


Advanced Compliance Services offers the new first aid course (FETAC level 5) using certified first aiders registered on the Register of Occupational First Aid Training Providers. All the trainers used by Advanced Compliance Services meet the standards listed in the guidelines on First-Aid at Places of Work and fulfill the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007. (S.I. No. 299 of 2007).


Course Content:

•  Unit 1 First aid in the workplace

•  Unit 2 Patient assessment

•  Unit 3 Respiratory emergencies

•  Unit 4 Cardiac first response

•  Unit 5 Wounds and bleeding

•  Unit 6 Altered levels of consciousness

•  Unit 7 Musculoskeletal injuries

•  Unit 8 Burns and scalds, chemicals, electric shock

Eligibility: Any person wishing to be become an occupational first aider

Course Duration: 3 days*
*3 days is compulsory under H.S.A guidlines for an Occupational First Aid Course.

Re-certification: Recertification is required every 2 years.

The HSA introduced the new Occupational First Aid standard as a FETAC Level 5 award. To be qualified as an Occupational First Aider a person must have the FETAC Level 5 certificate - since 1 November there is no other qualification recognised by the Health & Safety Authority. This course is offered in-house up to a maximum of 10 people.
